IMPORTANT:
* In calculation of percentage of seats for reserved category / categories the figure has been rounded off to lower whole number if decimal point is less than 0.5 and to higher whole number if the decimal point is 0.5 or more.
** Seats mentioned against Scheduled Caste Category and General Category include seats reserved for PwD Candidates. PwD Candidates will be placed in the category to which they belong and corresponding number of seats will be deducted from the seats mentioned against the respective category i.e. either Scheduled Caste of General Category.
ELIGIBILITY conditions for bhms (General/sc/obc/person with disability categories)
- Only candidates whose names appear in the NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG-2026) FOR ADMISSION TO MBBS/BDS/BHMS COURSES for the session 2026-27, will be eligible to apply for BHMS course as per the merit list of successful candidates prepared by NTA (National Testing Agency)
- Every candidate seeking admission should have attained the age of 17 years on or before 31st December, 2026.
- Only Indian Citizens are eligible for admission.
- A candidate shall have passed 10+2 (or equivalent) with subjects of PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY OR BIOTECHNOLOGY.
- Biology / Biotechnology studied as Additional Subject at 10+2 level shall not be considered for such admission.
- A candidate appearing / appeared in the qualifying 12th Standard Examination or other equivalent qualifying examination in 2026 where result is awaited can also apply. However, he / she shall not be eligible for admission, if he / she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks prior o the first round of Counseling. He / she will be allowed to attend first counseling only if detailed marks certificate of the above said examination is submitted prior to or at the time of first counseling, failing which he / she will be declared ineligible for the admission for the year 2026 and his / her application will be rejected.
- The candidates must have come in the merit list of NEET (UG)-2026 by securing following minimum marks in physics, chemistry, biology / bio-technology taken together:
General category: Not less than 50th percentile
SC / OBC category: Not less than 40th percentile
Physical Handicapped category: Not less than 45th percentile
- Candidates applying under Scheduled Caste Category OBC are required to submit the certificate regarding their category in the prescribed form, which must be signed only by officers mentioned in the form. Signature of any other officer will not be accepted & such applicants will be rejected.
- Admission to State / UT Pool will be made on the basis of rank / merit obtained in NEET (UG)-2026.
- Sequence of counseling will be for PwD category first, followed by General Category and then SC / OBC Category seats.
- Any seat(s) remaining unfilled from SC Category, OBC Category & PwD Category / Central Pool on account of non-availability of eligible candidates shall be filled from eligible State / UT Pool General Category candidates on the basis of rank / merit obtained in NEET (UG)-2026.
- Left over seats, if any, will be filled from among eligible candidates from other States.
Eligibility Criteria for seats reserved for OBC / Scheduled Castes
The candidates belonging to OBC / Scheduled Castes have to submit a certificate to this effect issued by the Tehsildar / Magistrate 1st Class / Deputy Commissioner of UT Chandigarh and bearing the seal of the issuing authority. (Specimen copy of the certificate is appended as Appendix-I)
IMPORTANT: Certificate not bearing the seal of the competent authority will not be accepted.
Eligibility conditions for BHMS (Person with Disability Category)
Only Disability Certificate issued by designated centers by NMC / NCH format will accept (Appendix-II)
GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION TO BHMS
GENERAL RULES
- Admitted student will fill up admission form of this college and complete other formalities as per colleges regulations.
- Fee is to be paid on the spot on the day of the admission.
- Candidates who fail to appear for counseling on the specified date & time will not be considered.
- Any seat(s) left vacant against the reserved categories shall be de-reserved and added to the general category seats at the end of the admission process for the reserved categories.
The students belonging to a reserved category admitted on the basis of his/her merit in the general category shall not be counted for towards the seats reserved for the categories concerned.
ADMISSION CRITERIA
- Admission will be made strictly on merit for candidates of all categories. A separate merit list for each category will be prepared based upon the marks obtained in NEET 2026. The result of the NEET 2026 ipso facto, does not entitle a candidate to get admission.
- Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination in supplementary are not eligible.
- In the event of a tie in the marks obtained in NEET 2026 a candidate getting higher percentage of total marks in the qualifying (10+2) examination in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Biology shall rank higher and if the marks in 10+2 examination in the said subjects are also the same, then the candidate older in age shall rank higher.
- In case the information furnished or certificates/documents submitted are found to be fake or the candidate is found to have withheld or concealed information in the application form, not withstanding legal action under the law of the land his/her admission shall stand cancelled and the fee deposited shall be forfeited.
- All legal disputes relating to admission of students will be subjects to courts having jurisdiction in Chandigarh.
- The candidature of those eligible candidates, who do not deposit the prescribed fee in full immediately after selection, shall stand automatically cancelled, and vacancies so caused will be offered to the candidates next in order of merit. No correspondence or appeals in this connection will be entertained. The candidate should produce original documents at the time of admission for verification. The attested copies of the certificates or similar other documents will not be entertained for granting admission to a candidate to the BHMS Course.
- Candidates passing their (10+2) or equivalent examination from Boards / Councils other than Schools Education Board of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi state will have to submit migration certificate from the respective Council / Board within a month from the date of enrolment.
- All admission to BHMS Course shall be provisional and subject to approval by the Panjab University.
- Students admitted to the course will be required to attend classes immediately. If a student remains absent from classes for seven consecutive working days, from the date of commencement of classes his / her name will automatically be struck off the rolls without any intimation and the seat thus rendered vacant will be offered to the next candidate of the waiting list of respective category.
- No alterations will be allowed in the application form after its submission
- Re-admission will be as per rules of Panjab University / NCH.
- The last date of receipt of Original Certificates is 30th September 2026, penalty will be charged as per Panjab University rules.
- The original certificates of the selected students will be retained by the college and shall returned only if the seat is surrendered by the candidate, as per instructions received from Director General health Services. Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi vide letter No. F.No. U12023/33/2209-MEC (Pt. II) dated 03.02.2010
- As per Panjab University Order Endst No. Misc/A-6/59381-59581, Dated 10.04.2015, a column for transgenders (TG) under general category has been incorporated in the application form.
OVERRIDING CONDITIONS
- Admissions are made according to the rules and regulations as mentioned in this prospectus. However, in all matters which either need interpretation or for which no provision exists in the prospectus the decision of the Admission Committee shall be final. No correspondence will be entertained regarding rejection or disqualification of any candidate.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Each candidate shall fill up the application form in his / her own handwriting.
- Candidates should clearly note that migration will not be permitted as a matter of right.
- Classes for failed / re-appear students will start immediately after the declaration of their results. Attendance in these classes is compulsory.
- Payment of fees must be made by cash / demand draft drawn in favor of Principal, Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh. Personal bank cheque will not be accepted. If any candidate withdraws, the refund of the fees will be as per directions of Chandigarh Administration / Panjab University, Chandigarh.
- The courses of study & examinations will be as per regulation of the Panjab University, Chandigarh.
- The rules & regulations, including fee to be charged, are subject to revision & amendment from time to time & the revised rules & regulations will be applicable irrespective of those given in this prospectus.
Counseling and Guidance
Supportive atmosphere is maintained among the students and teachers. Student’s personal problems are looked into and necessary counseling and guidance is given by the teachers. The students are free to approach any faculty member for the purpose.
Important Note
In case, any candidate found to have supplied false information, certificate etc. or is found to have concealed or withheld some information in her / his applications from, she / he shall be debarred from admission. Any other action that may be considered appropriate by the Director of the institute may also be taken against her / him which includes criminal prosecution.
Each application must be accompanied by the attested Photostat copies of the following documents, failing which the application will be treated incomplete and rejected.
- Certificate of having passed Matriculation & 10+2 examinations.
- Matriculation or equivalent certificate showing date of birth.
- Character certificate from the Head of the institution last attended.
- A declaration to the effect that he / she is not employed any where.
- Two references from respectable & responsible persons in the area certifying good moral character and non-affiliation to any Political party.
- Three passport size recent photographs.
- Family income certificate from concerned office in case of Govt. Employees and from Oath Commissioner in case of businessman.
Affidavit attested by Magistrate 1st class / Notary Public, explaining gap in studies if any.
