GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ADMISSION

Reservation of Seats: - There are 50 seats for admission to BHMS Course, Categorized as under:

* In calculation of percentage of seats for reserved category / categories the figure has been rounded off to lower whole number if decimal point is less than 0.5 and to higher whole number if the decimal point is 0.5 or more.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. Every candidate seeking admission should have attained the age of 17 years on or before 31^st December, 2024.
2. Candidates applying under Scheduled Caste category are required to submit the certificate regarding their category in the prescribed form (Appendix – 1) which must be signed only by officers mentioned in the form. Signatures of any other officer will not be accepted & such applications will be rejected.
3. Reservation for (Person with Disability) has been provided for personse. 01 seat (1^st preference to the candidates suffering from Locomotor disabilities of Lower Limbs between 50% - 70% disability is available). (Appendix II).
4. Applicant will be made under the criteria laid down by the Chandigarh Administration / Panjab University, Chandigarh.
5. Blind (including colour blind) deaf and or dumb candidates shall not be allowed admission in the course.
6. The candidates who have passed 10+2 examination in April 2024 from a recognized Board “Body” Council or any other examination recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Panjab University with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English and has qualified the entrance test shall be eligible to join the first year class of the course.
   The candidates who were placed under compartment in 10+2 examination in 2024 are not eligible.

CLARIFICATIONS

If the requisite number of students belonging to Scheduled Caste Category / PWD are not available, seats thus remaining vacant will be open to students of the General Category.

GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION TO BHMS

GENERAL RULES

1. Admitted student will fill up admission form of this college and complete other formalities as per colleges regulations.
2. Fee is to be paid on the spot on the day of the admission.
3. Candidates who fail to appear for counseling on the specified date & time will not be considered.
4. Any seat(s) left vacant against the reserved categories shall be de-reserved and added to the general category seats at the end of the admission process for the reserved categories.

The students belonging to a reserved category admitted on the basis of his/her merit in the general category shall not be counted for towards the seats reserved for the categories concerned.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

1. Admission will be made strictly on merit for candidates of all categories. A separate merit list for each category will be prepared based upon the marks obtained in NEET 2024. The result of the NEET 2024 ipso facto, does not entitle a candidate to get admission
2. Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination in supplementary 2024 are not eligible.
3. In the event of a tie in the marks obtained in NEET 2024 a candidate getting higher percentage of total marks in the qualifying (10+2) examination in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Biology shall rank higher and if the marks in 10+2 examination in the said subjects are also the same, then the candidate older in age shall rank higher.
4. In case the information furnished or certificates/documents submitted are found to be fake or the candidate is found to have withheld or concealed information in the application form, not withstanding legal action under the law of the land his/her admission shall stand cancelled and the fee deposited shall be forfeited.
5. All legal disputes relating to admission of students will be subjects to courts having jurisdiction in Chandigarh.
6. The candidature of those eligible candidates, who do not deposit the prescribed fee in full immediately after selection, shall stand automatically cancelled, and vacancies so caused will be offered to the candidates next in order of merit. No correspondence or appeals in this connection will be entertained. The candidate should produce original documents at the time of admission for verification. The attested copies of the certificates or similar other documents will not be entertained for granting admission to a candidate to the BHMS Course.
7. Candidates passing their (10+2) or equivalent examination from Boards / Councils other than Schools Education Board of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi state will have to submit migration certificate from the respective Council / Board within a month from the date of enrolment.
8. All admission to BHMS Course shall be provisional and subject to approval by the Panjab University.
9. Students admitted to the course will be required to attend classes immediately. If a student remains absent from classes for seven consecutive working days, from the date of commencement of classes his / her name will automatically be struck off the rolls without any intimation and the seat thus rendered vacant will be offered to the next candidate of the waiting list of respective category.
10. No alterations will be allowed in the application form after its submission
11. Re-admission will be as per rules of Panjab University / NCH.
12. The last date of receipt of Original Certificates is 30^th October 2024, penalty will be charged as per Panjab University rules.
13. The original certificates of the selected students will be retained by the college and shall returned only if the seat is surrendered by the candidate, as per instructions received from Director General health Services. Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi vide letter No. F.No. U12023/33/2209-MEC (Pt. II) dated 03.02.2010
14. As per Panjab University Order Endst No. Misc/A-6/59381-59581, Dated 10.04.2015, a column for transgenders (TG) under general category has been incorporated in the application form.

OVERRIDING CONDITIONS

1. Admissions are made according to the rules and regulations as mentioned in this prospectus. However, in all matters which either need interpretation or for which no provision exists in the prospectus the decision of the Admission Committee shall be final. No correspondence will be entertained regarding rejection or disqualification of any candidate.

MISCELLANEOUS

• Each candidate shall fill up the application form in his / her own handwriting.
• Candidates should clearly note that migration will not be permitted as a matter of right.
• Classes for failed / re-appear students will start immediately after the declaration of their results. Attendance in these classes is compulsory.
• Payment of fees must be made by cash / demand draft drawn in favor of Principal, Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh. Personal bank cheque will not be accepted. If any candidate withdraws, the refund of the fees will be as per directions of Chandigarh Administration / Panjab University, Chandigarh.
• The courses of study & examinations will be as per regulation of the Panjab University, Chandigarh.
• The rules & regulations, including fee to be charged, are subject to revision & amendment from time to time & the revised rules & regulations will be applicable irrespective of those given in this prospectus.

Counseling and Guidance

Democratic atmosphere is maintained among the students and teachers. Student’s personal problems are looked into and necessary counseling and guidance is given by the teachers. The students are free to approach any faculty member for the purpose.

Important Note

In case, any candidate found to have supplied false information, certificate etc. or is found to have concealed or withheld some information in her / his applications from, she / he shall be debarred from admission. Any other action that may be considered appropriate by the Director of the institute may also be taken against her / him which includes criminal prosecution.

Each application must be accompanied by the attested Photostat copies of the following documents, failing which the application will be treated incomplete and rejected.

1. Certificate of having passed Matriculation & 10+2 examinations.
2. Matriculation or equivalent certificate showing date of birth.
3. Character certificate from the Head of the institution last attended.
4. A declaration to the effect that he / she is not employed any where.
5. Two references from respectable & responsible persons in the area certifying good moral character and non-affiliation to any Political party.
6. Three passport size recent photographs.
7. Family income certificate from concerned office in case of Govt. Employees and from Oath Commissioner in case of businessman.
8. Affidavit attested by Magistrate 1^st class / Notary Public, explaining gap in studies if any.

Refund of payment:-

1. The candidates who are admitted to the course and want to surrender the seat prior to the last date of admission schedule approved by the Panjab University may be refunded the entire amount of fees and funds collected at the time of counseling after retaining Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) as administrative / processing charges provided the vacant seat is filled up.
2. The candidate will have to pay the exact amount as per P.U. fee structure prevailing at the time of admission. The amount mentioned above are approximate. Therefore, the candidates are advised to bring sufficient money to cover the increase if any. The amounts over and above the fee structure if any will be accepted in cash.
3. No charges are refundable if the seat remains unfilled.
4. In case a candidate vacates the seat after the last date fixed by the Panjab University as per its schedule, the candidate will have to fill indemnity bond in favor of college Principal of Rs. 1,28,750/- for surrendering the seat to avoid financial loss to the management of the college. A specimen copy of indemnity bond is appended as Appendix III.
5. The fee structure is subject to revision by the competent authority irrespective of details given in the prospectus.

Note:

No original certificates should be enclosed by the candidates with the application. However, the same must be produced at the time of interview, failing which their candidature will not be considered and any claim for a seat in Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Sector 26, Chandigarh shall be rejected.

The rules are subject to change as per directions by the NCH / Panjab University / Chandigarh Administration from time to time without any prior intimation.

Proof for claim of reserved category, will have to be provided if claimed as per Reservation Rules.
